Firewall Licence Renewal: Fortinet, Sophos, Palo Alto, SonicWall
When a firewall's subscription lapses, it keeps passing traffic but stops receiving new threat signatures, and you lose firmware updates and hardware replacement. We quote the renewal from your model and serial number and apply it before the old one runs out.
What stops when a licence expires
- New signatures for intrusion prevention and anti-malware
- Web filtering categories, on most brands
- Firmware updates, including security fixes
- Manufacturer support and hardware replacement
What we need from you
The model and serial number, which are on a label under the unit and on its dashboard, and the term you want. We check the current expiry date and whether the unit is still within the manufacturer's support life before we quote.
Renew or replace
If the firewall is near the end of its supported life, a long renewal can be poor value. In that case we show you the cost of renewing next to the cost of a current model with a new licence, so you can decide with both numbers in front of you.
Common questions
Can I renew after the licence has already expired?
Usually yes. Some manufacturers back-date the new term to the old expiry date or add a fee after a long gap, so it is cheaper to renew on time.
Can I change the bundle when I renew?
Yes. You can move to a larger or smaller bundle at renewal. We explain what each one includes.
Do you renew firewalls bought from another supplier?
Yes. A renewal is tied to the serial number, not to where the unit was bought.
